Writing:

Limited

I watch alone from my distant place,
A thousand snowflakes fall in haste.
My heart mirrors winter's cold embrace,
For my lips have lost my lady's taste.

I thought for just one night I'd try,
For the happiness promised in her eye.
But with one brief kiss, she set me by,
She left me alone out here to die.

Lost, alone, my heart awash with pain,
Rejection, refusal, she thought it but a game.
Mostly though what is driving me insane,
Is that I have no one but myself to blame.
